Overview
In order to build trust between buyers and sellers and to support a thriving community on the Pinkbike Buysell marketplace, users can now leave reviews about their experience communicating and transacting with other users.
The Buysell marketplace is an open community where users can act as both buyers and sellers, and the users, not pinkbike.com, are responsible for handling the exchange of funds and products. To build trust between users, both the buyer and seller can leave feedback about their individual experiences communicating with one another after they have had a two-way conversation about an item in the Pinkbike messaging system or when a seller marks an item as sold to another user.
Please note that Pinkbike does not verify if an item was purchased or received.
How the Buysell User Review System Works
The Pinkbike Buysell User Reviews works in a similar way to how Facebook Marketplace Reviews work:
Users can leave reviews for another after:
- The users have had two-way communication with one another via the Pinkbike messaging system about a BuySell item, regardless of an actual purchase.
- A seller marks an item as sold on Pinkbike to another Pinkbike user.
In the case where a seller has noted that they sold an item to a particular user, the review will show that a product was bought or sold by the reviewer.
When marking an item as sold, a seller has the option to note that the item was sold to another Pinkbike user. This gives the buyer an opportunity to review the seller in the marketplace. If the seller has communicated with the user about the item via the Pinkbike messaging system, the seller can choose the buyer from a dropdown list.
If the seller sold the item to a Pinkbike user through another method, like in their shop, they can still add the username manually. Once the seller is done marking an item as sold to another Pinkbike user, they will be asked to review the buyer and the buyer will be notified.
Notifications
Users will receive notifications via email and the Pinkbike notification system when:
- Another user leaves a review of the user.
- A seller marks an item as sold to the buyer (the buyer will receive a notification).
Working with the BuySell Review System
To prevent users from abusing the review system, a user can leave a single review per unique BuySell item. In addition, a user can leave a maximum of three reviews per unique user.
Once a user has reviews, their star rating and a link to their review page will be displayed throughout the BuySell marketplace alongside their username. If the user has a 4 or 5 star rating, their user profile will show a badge indicating that they are a 4 or 5 star buyer/seller.
Don’t panic if you receive what you believe to be an unfair review from another user. If you receive a rating you disagree with you have a few options:
- Work with the buyer/seller to find a solution.
Because a user can remove a review they have left for another user, the first step should be to communicate with one another to see if you can both resolve the issue and come to an agreement. Once the user is happy, they can remove their original review and create a new review.
- Dispute a review.
If you are unable to come to a resolution with the reviewer, you can get help from a Pinkbike moderator by disputing the review. Disputing a review will temporarily hide it while the Pinkbike moderation team evaluates the accuracy of the review.
If the moderator agrees with the reviewer, the review will be approved and returned to public view. If the moderator chooses to remove the review it will be permanently hidden. The reviewer will not be allowed to post another review for the same item.
We hope the BuySell user review system will help build trust between our buyers and sellers and continue to promote a better community in our marketplace. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact support.
